Chair Joni Ernst announced on Apr. 13 that Port Neal Welding Company has been named Small Business of the Week, as part of her ongoing effort to recognize businesses in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
The recognition highlights the importance of small businesses in local communities and their contributions to economic growth and community development. Chair Ernst said, “For over 30 years, Port Neal Welding Company has exemplified the well-fused entrepreneurial values of American small businesses. From creating industrial stairs, catwalks, and agricultural products to custom metal art, Dan Lee and his team’s commitment to high quality craftsmanship have welded folks’ trust across Iowa.”
Founded in 1994 by Dan Lee, Port Neal Welding Company began as a home-based operation and has since become a key part of its community. Lee works alongside his four sons producing a range of products from industrial steel items to custom artwork. The company is known for helping with repairs or new fabrications when needed.
