U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Boston announced on Apr. 16 that it has arrested five foreign nationals wanted for murder or homicide in their home countries over the past month throughout New England.
The agency said these individuals, all of whom entered the United States illegally, pose a risk to local communities even though some did not have criminal charges within the U.S. ICE stated that such fugitives are often not included in statistics about arrests with U.S. criminal histories because their crimes occurred abroad.
“Even though some of these foreign fugitives had no criminal charges in the United States, all endangered our New England communities,” said ERO Boston acting Field Office Director David T. Wesling. “We will continue to pursue these dangerous criminal aliens that sanctuary politicians fight to protect.”
According to ICE, those arrested include Danny Granados-Garcia from El Salvador; Kele Cristian Alves-Pereira, Magno Jose Dos Santos, and Altieris Chaves Paiva from Brazil; and Bryan Rafael Gomez from the Dominican Republic. The arrests took place between March 10 and April 5 across Connecticut and Massachusetts cities including Waterbury, Everett, Worcester, and Falmouth.
ICE reported that each individual is subject to an outstanding arrest warrant for homicide or related serious offenses issued by authorities in their respective home countries between February 2021 and April 2024.
The agency said it remains committed to prioritizing community safety through targeted enforcement actions against what it described as "the most dangerous criminal aliens."
