Jacksonville man indicted for possessing more than a pound of fentanyl

Issac Darnell Henderson, age 32, has been indicted on charges of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, including more than a pound and a half of fentanyl, according to an April 16 announcement by U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe.

The case is significant because if Henderson is convicted, he faces up to life in prison. The indictment also states that the United States plans to seize assets believed to be linked to proceeds from the alleged offense.

According to authorities, the Drug Enforcement Administration executed a search warrant at Henderson's Jacksonville residence on February 14 and recovered over one and a half pounds of multi-colored fentanyl.

Officials emphasized that an indictment is only a formal charge and that all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant United States Attorney Rachel Lasry will prosecute the case, while Assistant United States Attorney Nicole Andrejko will handle forfeiture proceedings.
