U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested several individuals convicted of serious crimes on Apr. 24, according to a statement from the Department of Homeland Security.
The announcement comes during National Crime Victims Week, a time dedicated to remembering victims of crime across the country.
A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security said, “During National Crime Victims Week, DHS law enforcement continues to deliver justice for victims of illegal alien crime by removing criminals from our communities. Just yesterday, ICE arrested murderers, sexual predators and drug traffickers. Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, ICE has been unleashed to make America safe again.”
Among those arrested were Luis Eduardo Orozco-Contreras from Mexico, convicted for murder in San Jose, California; Gadvin Acencio-Godoy from Guatemala, convicted for indecent act with a child by a parent as well as two counts of aggravated sexual battery and sodomy involving a victim under 13 years old in Winchester, Virginia; Esau Arroyo-Velazquez from Mexico, convicted for six counts of sexual assault in Maury County, Tennessee; Pedro Pablo Fundora-Vasquez from Cuba, convicted for aggravated assault with a weapon along with multiple drug possession and selling charges in Boston, Massachusetts; and Rochlem Eric Aquino-Yadao from the Philippines who was convicted for distribution of methamphetamines in Glendale, California.
