Eight arrested on drug, firearm, and immigration charges in St. Louis task force operation

Eight individuals were arrested on April 29 in St. Louis and surrounding areas on federal charges related to drug trafficking, firearms offenses, and illegal re-entry into the United States.

The arrests stem from an investigation led by the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF), a multi-agency initiative focused on disrupting criminal organizations operating within the United States. Authorities said that six of those arrested had entered the country illegally.

According to prosecutors, Ivan Said Henriquez-Corea, Jose Edwardo Maldonado-Vargas (also known as Oscar Rodriguez-Lopez), Manuel DeJesus Hernandez-Maldonado, Heber Marcelino Figueroa-Bardales, Edgar Cruz-Ramirez, Thomas Allen Hull, Maria Amabil Hernandez, and Joan Hurtado-Jimenez face various charges including conspiracy to distribute cocaine and illegal firearms transactions. The indictment seeks forfeiture of seven pistols and five AR-style firearms seized during the investigation. Officials emphasized that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Court documents indicate that multiple cocaine sales and at least six gun transactions between late 2025 and March were monitored or recorded by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Some weapons involved were AR-style pistols with high-capacity magazines. Detention motions state several defendants are originally from Honduras or Mexico; some entered illegally while others have legal status.

The HSTF includes agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; Homeland Security Investigations; FBI; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; U.S. Marshals Service; Drug Enforcement Administration; Internal Revenue Service; United States Postal Inspection Service; with prosecution led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri.
