U.S. Attorney’s Office to hold webinar on online safety for children on May 7

The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts announced on Apr. 29 that it will host a virtual webinar on May 7 focused on keeping children safe online. The event will cover topics such as social media, gaming, sextortion, extremist threats, and the use of generative artificial intelligence.

The webinar aims to address growing concerns about children's safety in digital spaces and provide families with tools to navigate new challenges. Subject matter experts from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Homeland Security Investigations, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children are scheduled to present at the event. There will also be a live question-and-answer session and resources available for further education.

Registration is required for participation in the event, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and will not be recorded. Media representatives interested in attending should contact the U.S. Attorney’s Office beforehand; they may observe but are asked not to identify or interview attendees or quote participant questions during the session.
