Carlos Roberto Guardado-Ramirez, a 46-year-old native of Honduras, was sentenced on April 22 by United States District Judge Greg Gerard Guidry after pleading guilty to re-entry of a removed alien. The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney David I. Courcelle on May 1.
Guardado-Ramirez received a sentence of time served, one year of supervised release, and must pay a mandatory $100 special assessment fee. He has been held in federal prison since December 10, 2025.
Court records show that Guardado-Ramirez was found in the United States on December 3, 2025. He had previously been deported on May 4, 2006 and did not have authorization from the Attorney General to return. Homeland Security Investigations New Orleans received information about his return and he was arrested by ICE Enforcement and Removal Officers in LaPlace, Louisiana.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, an initiative aimed at addressing illegal immigration and eliminating transnational criminal organizations through coordinated efforts from Department of Justice resources such as the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhoods.
U.S. Attorney Courcelle said he praised the work of the United States Border Patrol in investigating this matter. Assistant United States Attorney Carter K.D. Guice Jr., from the General Crimes Unit, handled the prosecution.
