Statement by Press Secretary Peter Boogaard on Deputy Secretary Mayorkas' Upcoming Trip to Greece and Spain

For Immediate Release DHS Press Office Contact: 202-282-8010 On June 24-26, Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas will travel to Athens, Greece and Barcelona, Spain. In Greece, Deputy Secretary Mayorkas will participate in the U.S.-European Union Justice and Home Affairs Ministerial Meeting and meet with international counterparts to discuss collective efforts to combat terrorism, enhance aviation security, secure cyberspace, and address other homeland security-related priorities. In Spain, Deputy Secretary Mayorkas will participate in the European Union Group of 6 + 1 Interior Ministers’ Meeting where he will meet with international counterparts to discuss counterterrorism efforts, to include aviation security, and efforts to stem illegal immigration and global drug trafficking.
