Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Chairwoman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, today released the following statement on Sen. Mo Cowan (D-MA) who is departing the Senate after this week’s election of Senator-Elect Edward Markey.

“I want to thank Senator Mo Cowan for his excellent service to the people of Massachusetts and our nation. Sen. Cowan was a strong champion for farmers and fisheries as a member of the Agriculture Committee, and his voice will be missed. It has been a pleasure to serve with Sen. Cowan, and I wish him the best as he leaves the Senate and goes on to the next challenge of his career."
