Public-Private Partnerships Panel Hearing to Focus on Highways and Transit Projects

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure on Feb. 28, 2014. It is reproduced in full below.

The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee special panel focusing on public-private partnerships (P3s) will hold a hearing next week focusing on the role P3s play in the delivery of highway and transit projects.

The Panel on Public-Private Partnerships is chaired by U.S. Rep. John J. Duncan, Jr. (R-TN), and U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano (D-MA) serves as the ranking member. The panel is tasked with examining the use of and opportunities for public-private partnerships (P3s) across all modes of transportation, economic development, public buildings, water, and maritime infrastructure. Over the last few years, P3s have helped address some of the United States’ significant need for highway and transit improvements, and next week’s hearing will examine some of those projects.

The hearing, entitled “Overview of Public-Private Partnerships in Highway and Transit Projects," is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building.
