Coast Guard Subcommittee Hearing to Focus on Authorization of Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Programs

Washington - The Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation will hold its first hearing of the 115th Congress next Wednesday. The Subcommittee will examine the current state of the Coast Guard and federal maritime transportation programs in preparation for an authorization bill later this Congress.

The Subcommittee will hear from the Coast Guard, the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC), and the Maritime Administration (MARAD).

This hearing of the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation, chaired by U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, Jr. (R-CA), is entitled: “Authorization of Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Programs." The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, in 2253 Rayburn House Office Building.

* Admiral Paul F. Zukunft, Commandant, United States Coast Guard

* Master Chief Steven W. Cantrell, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard, United States Coast Guard

* Mr. Michael A. Khouri, Acting Chairman, Federal Maritime Commission

* Mr. Joel Szabat, Executive Director, in Lieu of the Administrator, Maritime Administration
