Domenici Issues Statement on OCS Legislation

The following press release was published by the Senate Committee On Energy & Natural Resources on June 30, 2006. It is reproduced in full below.

“I’ve had a number of productive meetings with Sen. Landrieu and others about my Lease Sale 181 bill. We’ve made good progress in those meetings, but we’re not there yet. And as with any negotiation like this, there’s really no deal until there’s a complete deal. I remain optimistic, however, that we can pass a bill in the Senate in July, and potentially go to conference with the Pombo/Jindal bill just passed by the House."
