Committee Advances Four DOE Nominees

The Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources today held a business meeting to advance four nominees for the Department of Energy (DOE):

* Teri Donaldson to be Inspector General;

* Dr. Christopher Fall to be Director of the Office of Science;

* Karen Evans to be Assistant Secretary for Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response; and

* Daniel Simmons to be Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.

Chairman Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, supported all four nominations. The committee favorably reported Donaldson, Fall, and Evans by voice vote, and Simmons by a bipartisan vote of 14-9. The nominations now head to the Senate floor.

Murkowski is chairman of the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
