Alaska - A Napakiak, Alaska resident wanted on an outstanding state warrant was arrested today by the U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force, the Alaska State Troopers and the Palmer Police Department. Alexie Michael, 65, was being sought on a warrant issued on Sept. 26, 2019, by the State of Alaska. Michael is being charged with five counts of Sexual Assault 1-Penetrate Without Consent.
The coordinated apprehension investigation began under Operation Rural Alaska Anti-Violence Enforcement (RAAVEN). The fugitive’s flight from law enforcement began when he fled the village of Napakiak, traveled through Bethel and Anchorage then ended on Nov. 19, 2019, at approximately 2:00 p.m., with the location and arrest of Michael in a residential area located at Palmer, Alaska. Michael is currently being held at the Mat-Su Pre-trial Facility in Palmer, Alaska pending court proceedings.
The U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force is a team comprised of law enforcement officers from the U.S. Marshals, the Alaska State Troopers, the Anchorage Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations. The objective of the Task Force is to seek out and arrest violent offenders with outstanding warrants.
