Bandera, TX - Abelardo Daniel Garcia was arrested today by members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) on charges involving first degree murder.
Garcia, 30, was wanted by the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) after a warrant was issued for his arrest earlier this week. Garcia was allegedly involved in a shooting and carjacking that left two victims dead. Witnesses stated that Garcia fled the scene in the stolen vehicle and avoided apprehension after a high-speed police pursuit. Members of the LSFTF were later contacted to provide assistance during the police investigation and to locate Garcia.
This afternoon, task force officers located Garcia at a house in the 300 block of Private Road 1510, in Bandera, TX. Garcia was arrested without incident and is currently being held in custody at the Bandera County Jail.
“Fugitives pose a danger to society and apprehensions are vital to protect the innocent," said U.S. Marshal Susan Pamerleau. “Deputies and task force officers responded without delay and potentially prevented the loss of another life."
