Felony Murder Suspect Apprehended by U.S. Marshals Near Nashville

Jackson, TN - U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the capture of Zion Maliek Hobson, 20, on charges of Felony Murder, Attempted First-Degree Murder, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony that occurred in Jackson.

On Sept. 28, 2021, it is alleged that Zion Hobson was involved in a shooting outside an apartment complex off Roosevelt Parkway in Jackson that left one man dead. The Jackson Police Department obtained a warrant for the arrest of Hobson.

On October 5, the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) out of Jackson initiated an investigation to apprehend Hobson. The TRVFTF developed information that Hobson had fled to the Nashville area.

On Oct. 19, the TRVFTF requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Middle Tennessee Joint Fugitive Task Force (MTJFTF) out of Nashville to locate and apprehend Hobson. On November 8, the MTJFTF tracked down and arrested Hobson at a Comfort Inn & Suites outside Nashville.

U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller stated, “the United States Marshals Service is committed to providing safe and effective law enforcement services to the communities we serve."

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The Western Tennessee Division of the TRVFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
