Cummings Disappointed with Postal Service’s Quarterly Earnings

Washington, DC - Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, issued the following statement in response to today’s announcement from the U.S. Postal Service that the agency experienced a net loss of $1.3 billion in the first quarter:

“The U.S. Postal Service has now experienced losses in 5 consecutive quarters. Clearly, it is time for the Congress to deliver for the Postal Service and the American people by immediately enacting comprehensive reform legislation that puts the Postal Service on a sustainable path."
