Harkin Statement on Confirmation of Chai Feldblum to Continue as Commissioner at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

WASHINGTON, D.C.-Today, Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), Chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, issued the following statement after the Senate confirmed Chai Feldblum to continue serving as a Commissioner at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The HELP Committee approved Feldblum’s nomination in October.

“As a current Commissioner at the EEOC, Chai Feldblum is part of an agency that serves American workers, protects them against discrimination, and upholds equal rights in the workplace. As a result of her exemplary service, she was rightfully nominated to serve a second term at this important body. I am pleased that the Senate has confirmed Ms. Feldblum to a second term, and I am grateful for her commitment to public service."
