Mental Health Hearing Canceled

WASHINGTON -- Senate Finance Committee Chairman William V. Roth, Jr. (R-DE) today announced the Wednesday hearing on community-based care of the mentally ill has been canceled.

The Committee will meet Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at 10:00 a.m., in 215 Dirksen Senate Office Building, to consider the following nominations:

• Stephen J. Swift, to be Judge of the United States Tax Court;

• Joel Gerber, to be Judge of the United States Tax Court;

• Troy Hamilton Cribb, to be Assistant Secretary of Commerce, Department of Commerce;

• Thomas R. Saving, to be Public Trustee of the Social Security and Medicare Trust Fund;

• John L. Palmer, to be Public Trustee of the Social Security and Medicare Trust Fund;

• Mark A. Weinberger, to be Member of the Social Security Advisory Board;

• Gerald M. Shea, to be Member of the Social Security Advisory Board.
