International Tax Working Group

The following press release was published by the United States Committee on Finance Ranking Member’s News on Nov. 14, 2002. It is reproduced in full below.

Earlier this fall the Senate Finance Committee’s International Tax Working Group began meeting to develop a set of proposals aimed at addressing competitiveness and simplification in the international tax arena. The International Tax Working Group is moving forward in three phases: analysis of the current international tax regime, consideration of alternatives for reform, and the development of a bipartisan proposal.

At this point, the Committee would like to invite proposals from outside parties who wish to submit their suggestions. They may be directed to:

Lara Birkes at ITWG@finance.senate.gov

The Working Group will consider all proposals received by Jan. 10, 2003. For more information, please find the International Tax Working Group’s mission statement attached.
