Sen. Grassley remembers Sen. Craig Thomas of Wyoming

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on June 5, 2007. It is reproduced in full below.

Sen. Chuck Grassley, Ranking Member of the Committee on Finance, issued the following comment about Sen. Craig Thomas.

“Sen. Thomas was a friend and an outstanding member of the Finance Committee. He was an active participant in committee business, and when I was Chairman I could always count on his diligent and valuable involvement in the issues before us. I appreciated greatly his commitment to conservative principles and the responsibilities of governing. As Chairman of the Trade Subcommittee, Sen. Thomas was a strong voice for opening new markets and opportunities for U.S. exports. He engaged himself fully in efforts to achieve ambitious outcomes from trade negotiations. Sen. Thomas was a true representative for his Wyoming constituents and worked hard for the good of our nation every day. He will be missed very much, and I extend my sincere and deep sympathies to his family and staff."
