Finance Committee Republicans Seek Mark-up of Extension of Expiring 2001, 2003 Tax Relief

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on July 15, 2010. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON - Sen. Chuck Grassley, ranking member of the Committee on Finance, joined by Senate Republican Whip Jon Kyl and all other committee Republicans, is asking the chairman to schedule a mark-up of an extension of current individual tax rates, which will expire in less than six months without legislative action. The senators wrote to Sen. Max Baucus, chairman, urging a mark-up as soon as possible to bring some certainty of continued tax relief in a struggling economy.

The request follows a committee hearing on the tax provisions earlier this week.
