Wyden Statement on Mylan Settlement

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on Oct. 7, 2016. It is reproduced in full below.

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) today issued the statement below following news that Mylan NV will pay $465 million to the Department of Justice and other agencies to settle the question of whether the company had for years been vastly underpaying EpiPen rebates owed to Medicaid.

"Today's news is a first step for taxpayers to get what they are owed from drug companies. I remain extremely concerned by the alarming trend of rising drug prices straining family budgets and taxpayers, and by how this was allowed to happen in the first place."
