WASHINGTON, DC - Today key health care stakeholders met with President Barack Obama to discuss their efforts to develop a consensus around reform proposals to reduce health care costs. Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY) issued the following statement in response:
“I am more than pleased that the commitment made by the stakeholders at President Obama’s recent Health Care Summit is closer to becoming a reality. Their cooperation is essential to the efforts undertaken by the President and Congress. Working together, I am optimistic that we can produce a uniquely American health reform bill that objectively slows health spending growth and ensures everyone has access to care that meets their needs."
