WASHINGTON DC - Ways and Means Committee Chairman Sander M. Levin (D-MI) issued the following statement in response to the President’s speech today in Cleveland, Ohio:

“The President’s speech was right on the mark in its focus on the middle class, the need to end tax breaks that ship jobs overseas and invest instead in jobs in the U.S. especially in areas like advance battery and alternative energy. The message to Republicans is loud and clear: stop obstructing relief to small businesses, and stop playing politics with our country’s economic recovery."
