Brady Applauds Administration’s Action to Increase Price Transparency in Health Care

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on July 1, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, D.C. - Today, the top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement after President Donald J. Trump issued an executive order aimed at making health care prices more transparent:

“I applaud President Trump and his cabinet, including Secretary Azar, for this bold move to inject greater patient-oriented transparency in health care. The contrast is clear between Republicans’ continuous efforts to lower out of pocket health care costs for families across the country and one-size-fits-all Democrat proposals like ‘Medicare for all’ that centralize control in Washington, D.C. Republicans remain laser-focused on advancing policies that improve access and affordability of quality health care for all Americans by increasing transparency, ending surprise billing, and lowering the cost of prescription drugs. I look forward to reviewing the Executive Order and the proposals that come out of this Administration."
