Washington, D.C. - Today, the top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement after the United States and Japan announced that the two countries have reached an agreement on a trade deal:

“This announcement is great news and I applaud President Trump and his team for their diligent work as the Administration further opens the Asia-Pacific market for U.S. farmers and ranchers and removes barriers to digital trade. I look forward to intensifying consultations with the Administration and working toward the next step - a comprehensive agreement between the United States and Japan that will benefit American workers across every sector of our economy."
