Brady Statement on Holding’s Retirement

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on Dec. 9, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, D.C. - Today, the top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement after Rep. George Holding (R-NC) announced his decision to retire at the end of the 116th Congress:

“It has been an honor to serve with such a good, smart, thoughtful man as George Holding on the Ways and Means Committee. From passing historic tax reform, modernizing our trade agreements, protecting innovation in health care, expanding rural health-care access, and working together to secure needed funding for hurricane relief for our states, George has always led with integrity and a selfless desire to get the job done. He’s been a champion for North Carolina here in Washington, and his retirement is a big loss for America. Cathy and I wish him, his wife Lucy, and their four children all the best. He will be missed."
