Neal Statement on House Passage of 2021 Budget Resolution

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on Feb. 3, 2021. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC-Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed H. Con. Res. 11, the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2021:

“This budget resolution provides a pathway for Congress to swiftly provide much-needed aid to millions of Americans trying to survive the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The public health and economic crises are far from over, and Congress must act quickly to approve additional relief. Ways and Means Democrats will continue working to ensure that we get more money into people’s pockets, extend pandemic-related unemployment assistance, provide Americans access to quality health care, and expand tax credits that help low-income workers and combat child poverty.

"To end this pandemic, support folks in need, and ultimately get the economy back on track, Congress must pass more, bold relief, as President Biden has outlined in his American Rescue Plan."
