WASHINGTON, DC- Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed a continuing resolution to fund the government through Dec. 3, 2021:

“Congress has averted a government shutdown, and now the Senate must act to ensure we also avoid default. Democrats will continue to fulfill our fundamental responsibilities as we simultaneously make progress in advancing life-changing policies for the American people, like 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave, clean energy investments to combat climate change, expanded access to affordable health care, and tax cuts for families."
