Chairman Neal Applauds Ireland’s Commitment to Join the OECD Tax Agreement

SPRINGFIELD, MA - Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman and Co-Chair of the Congressional Friends of Ireland Caucus Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement regarding the Irish Government’s decision to join the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) corporate tax agreement:

“Ireland joining more than 130 countries in supporting the establishment of a global minimum tax rate is a significant step forward in leveling the playing field for multinational companies and workers around the world. I applaud the serious and thoughtful consideration the Irish Government has given to these important issues, and welcome this continued progress in reaching consensus around harmonizing international tax rules."
