Washington, DC -- Chairman Tom Lantos of the House Foreign Affairs Committee has issued the following statement on the passing of Rep. Jo Ann Davis (R-VA).
"Jo Ann Davis showed a strong commitment to U.S. foreign policy. She was a valued member of this committee, keeping up to speed on our activities even as she battled her illness. She served as chair of the U.S. congressional delegation of the Transatlantic Legislators' Dialogue from 2003 to 2006, leading meetings with members of the European Parliament in Rome, Dublin, and Vienna, as well as several in the United States. Jo Ann will be missed by many on the international scene, as well as her colleagues in Congress.".
