Washington, D.C. - House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) issued the following statement on the outlawing of Cambodia’s main opposition party by the Cambodian Supreme Court.
“This decision destroys any pretense of democracy in Cambodia. Future Cambodian ‘elections’ - including those scheduled for next year - cannot be legitimate without the participation of the major opposition party. Hun Sen and his thuggish regime have, sadly, achieved their goal of a one-party dictatorship. It won’t be accepted.".
