Chairman Royce Statement on Meeting with Baltic Foreign Ministers

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Foreign Affairs on March 6, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, D.C. - On Capitol Hill today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) hosted foreign ministers from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia for a discussion on regional security threats including Russia’s troubling actions in the Baltics.

Chairman Royce issued this statement on the meeting: “It is my pleasure to welcome our friends and allies today. Our relationship to the Baltic States is strong and enduring, solidified through years of Soviet occupation - when the U.S. refused to recognize their incorporation into the U.S.S.R.

“Today, our Baltic allies again face a Kremlin determined to undermine, interfere and intimidate. The United States must stand solidly with its allies as we work together to counter these aggressive acts.".
