Washington - Representative Eliot L. Engel, Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, today made the following statement.
“I was heartbroken about the Ukraine International Airlines flight 752 crash just outside of Tehran - and am deeply troubled by reports indicating that it was accidentally shot down by IRGC surface-to-air missiles. I extend my sincerest condolences to the families of the 176 individuals killed in the crash, and implore all parties involved to conduct a thorough and fair investigation. The families of these victims deserve answers and, if responsible, the Iranian regime must own up to this horrendous disaster.".
