WASHINGTON - Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Joe Lieberman, ID-Conn., issued the following statement Wednesday after the unanimous confirmation of FBI Director Robert Mueller.
“Senate confirmation of FBI Director Mueller to an extended, two-year term serves our nation’s homeland security interests. The Director has demonstrated tremendous strength, effectiveness, and honor over the past 10 years during a period of trauma and testing for our country. America needs Bob Mueller for two more years to complete the transformation he has started to make the FBI into a first-rate domestic counterterrorism and intelligence agency. I thank Bob for his willingness to continue to serve."
