Chairman Bob Goodlatte today issued the following statement regarding the Senate’s confirmation of Chuck Conner’s appointment as U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Deputy Secretary of Agriculture:
“On behalf of the House Committee on Agriculture, I would like to congratulate Chuck Conner on his new position as Deputy Secretary of Agriculture. Chuck has been a strong advocate for agriculture and will serve this position well. I, along with the Members of the Committee, look forward to working with him on issues facing America’s farmers, ranchers and foresters.
The Committee has shared a strong working relationship with Deputy Secretary Jim Moseley and we wish him well in his future endeavors. Jim has made significant contributions to efforts to assist the Afghan government in rebuilding its agricultural infrastructure. His contributions to agriculture, both domestically and internationally, are much appreciated and I know that he will remain a strong advocate for agriculture."
