Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo congratulated the 2022 “E” and “E Star” award winners at the President's E-Awards Ceremony.

She said the “E” and “E Star” Awards are the highest honors the U.S. government gives to U.S. exporters and export service providers, according to a July 13 Department of Commerce news release.

“Exporting world-class American products overseas isn’t just essential for our domestic economy, it’s also vital for our global economic competitiveness,” Raimondo said in the release.

The Department of Commerce is doing everything it can to promote American businesses and products globally to strengthen domestic supply chains and increase engagement with international markets that are critical to our economic recovery, she said, according to the release.

Raimondo brought attention to several service exporters, including Academica International Studies which developed the online study Dual Diploma program for foreign high school students to obtain a U.S.-accredited high school diploma alongside their foreign high school diploma, the release reported.

Truckee Meadows Community College, in Nevada, used its innovative marketing and developed new programs to attract international students to the school, who contribute more than $1 million annually in revenue to the school, according to the release.

"Those are just a few examples of the American companies whose leadership is securing a better future for us and our friends around the world,” Raimondo said in the release. “Thank you everyone for your commitment to export growth and for continuing to strengthen our economy. We need exporters now more than ever.”
