Bishop: If the President Cared About the Will of the People He Would Reverse Course on WOTUS

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Natural Resources on Jan. 13, 2016. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the House passed S.J. Res. 22, Congressional Disapproval of the “Waters of the United States" Rule. Chairman Rob Bishop (R-UT) released the following statement:

“When 27 states object to an action of the President we know something is wrong. Waters of the United States is the President’s latest unilateral act to extend the power of his Administration beyond constitutional limits. This resolution, mirroring opposition of those states, demonstrates bipartisan disapproval of this far-reaching rule that undercuts states’ authority to manage and care for our nation’s water resources. If the President actually cared about the will of the people he’d respect that will and end this shameful abuse of power."
