SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has issued the Final Environmental Assessment/Initial Study and Finding of No Significant Impact for the amendment to Corning Water District’s Existing Contract with Reclamation for the purpose of assigning a portion of CWD’s Contract Total to Reclamation. This water acquisition is authorized under the Central Valley Project Improvement Act, specifically Sections 3406(d)(2) and 3406(b)(3).
With this amendment, Reclamation will acquire 3,000 acre-feet from Corning Water District’s contract total of project water supply in the Sacramento River division. The amendment is being carried out in an effort to meet annual Refuge Level 4 water supply to enhance and maintain wetland habitat for the benefit of migratory waterfowl and wetland-dependent wildlife.
