Chicago Man Sentenced to Federal Charges in Connection with Plaza Frontenac Robbery

St. Louis, MO - Dejuan Wingard, 22, of Chicago, Illinois was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment for his role in a “smash and grab" theft of Chanel handbags at the Saks Fifth Avenue in Plaza Frontenac on Nov. 26, 2016. Wingard is the seventh of thirteen individuals to have pleaded guilty in connection with the offense.

In addition to the November 26th theft, Wingard acknowledged participating in a similar theft at the same Saks Fifth Avenue on Aug. 2, 2016.

After his prison sentence, Wingard was ordered to serve three years supervised release and pay more than $200,000 in restitution to the store. Wingard appeared before Judge Audrey G. Fleissig in U.S. District Court in St. Louis this afternoon.

The case was investigated by the St. Louis FBI and the Frontenac Police Department.
