ROSEBURG, Ore. - Please join the Bureau of Land Management Roseburg District Office on Friday, Oct. 20, at 9:00 a.m. at the Island Creek Day Use Area and participate in a clean-up of the Cow Creek Backcountry Byway. This is the 16th year the community has participated in caring for this beautiful area. This cleanup is part of two events the BLM Roseburg District Office will host for National Public Lands Day.
The Island Creek Day-Use Area is located approximately 10 miles southwest of Riddle, Oregon along the Cow Creek Back Country Byway. The clean-up begins at 9:00 a.m. and will end approximately at 12:30 p.m.
The BLM will provide volunteers with trash grabbers, work gloves, water, trash bags, safety vests and lunch. Please wear sturdy shoes and long sleeved shirts and long pants. Sunscreen is recommended. Each volunteer will receive a t-shirt for participating.
National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands and brings together hundreds of thousands of individual and organizational volunteers to help restore America’s public lands. As stewards, the BLM manages public lands for the benefit of current and future generations, supporting conservation as the agency pursues its multiple-use mission.
