Coyote Tests Positive for Rabies 12/15/04

A park visitor was bit by a rabid coyote while walking his dog on Sunday, December 12. The incident occurred at the Sope Creek location of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. Cobb County Police were first to respond and isolated the coyote until Cobb County Animal Control arrived to retrieve the animal. The park visitor received a small bite wound and will now proceed with the series of rabies shots. Park visitors are advised to stay clear of the wildlife while enjoying the park.
