The Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve which includes Fort Caroline National Memorial and Kingsley Plantation will be closed as of 5:00 p.m., Thursday, September 7, 2017, due to the approach of Hurricane Irma. The visitor center and grounds at Fort Caroline National Memorial and Kingsley Plantation will remain closed until further notice. The Preserve’s natural areas at Cedar Point and the Theodore Roosevelt Area will also be closed to the public. “Due to the size and potential impacts associated with Hurricane Irma, Timucuan will be closed until conditions improve" stated Superintendent Chris Hughes.
