Washington, D.C. - House Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Health Subcommittee Republican Leader Brett Guthrie (R-KY) issued the following statements regarding legislation that passed the House of Representatives today.

On S.4978, the State Offices of Rural Health Program Reauthorization Act of 2022 (Senate companion to H.R. 9137):

“We’re proud to support this bipartisan legislation to continue efforts to link up small communities with state and federal health resources, strengthening health access for rural Americans. We commend Congressman and Senator-elect Markwayne Mullin for his leadership on this issue."

On S. 4120, Childhood Cancer STAR Reauthorization Act (Senate companion to H.R. 7630):

“As parents, we can’t imagine the fear and pain felt by families with a loved one suffering from childhood cancer. That’s why we support extending the STAR Act, which was first signed into law by President Trump. We applaud Congressman Michael McCaul for leading this bipartisan effort."
