Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-NY) issued the following statement regarding the majority’s intention to advance a one-week stopgap Continuing Resolution:
“I am aware the majority intends to advance a one-week stopgap Continuing Resolution. It bears repeating that seven months into the fiscal year, this should not be necessary.
“Democrats continue to work toward a bipartisan Omnibus Appropriations Act that provides sufficient funding for critical priorities and rejects divisive poison-pill riders.
“By the time a vote occurs on this one-week stopgap, I hope we have made more progress on eliminating poison pill riders and advancing shared priorities."
