Appropriations Committee Releases FY 2020 Energy and Water Development, Defense Bill Reports Ahead of Tuesday Markup

WASHINGTON - The House Appropriations Committee today released its reports accompanying the fiscal year 2020 Energy and Water Development and Defense appropriations bills.

The Energy and Water Development bill invests $46.4 billion in Energy and Water Development programs, an increase of $1.8 billion from fiscal year 2019.

The full Appropriations Committee will mark up the Energy and Water Development bill, followed by the Defense bill, on Tuesday, May 21, at 10:30 a.m.

In total, the Defense bill provides $690.2 billion in new discretionary spending authority for the Department of Defense for functions under the Defense Subcommittee’s jurisdiction, an increase of $15.8 billion above the fiscal year 2019 enacted level.
