The Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP), a research-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is seeking to fill the position of Grants and Financial Coordinator. This full-time, hybrid role combines grant administration, financial administration, and office management duties. The position is based in Washington, DC with a flexible schedule.
Key responsibilities include coordinating grant reporting and supporting the development of grant proposals. Office and financial management tasks involve ensuring smooth functioning of office systems, administering payroll and accounts payable/receivable, working with an outside accounting firm for monthly reconciliations and tax filings, maintaining donation records, and issuing receipts. Additional administrative duties support UHRP’s research, communications, and advocacy efforts.
The coordinator will also track activities for donor reports and prepare budget reports for the Board of Directors. Candidates with additional skills that support UHRP's work are welcome.
Qualifications include excellent written and oral communication skills in English, exceptional organizational skills, ability to coordinate team efforts to meet deadlines, proficiency in Google Workspace functions or willingness to undergo training, and the ability to quickly learn other software applications as needed.
Desirable qualifications include one to five years of experience in non-profit or small business environments, experience in grant administration and developing funding proposals, and experience managing budgets and financial systems.
