HUD achieves fifth consecutive clean audit opinion

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has announced that its Agency Financial Report has received a clean audit opinion for the fifth consecutive year. This achievement highlights HUD's commitment to financial transparency, accountability, and responsible management of taxpayer funds.

"This year’s achievements reaffirm our commitment to strong, accountable financial management and stewardship of public funds," stated HUD Agency Head, The Honorable Adrianne Todman. "HUD has championed responsible practices to uphold the trust of the American people."

The report details HUD's financial accomplishments and milestones for Fiscal Year 2024. It includes an Independent Auditor’s report on internal control and compliance with laws and regulations.

In Fiscal Year 2024, HUD made several key improvements to its internal controls and financial processes. These changes addressed a previous Single Audit Act non-compliance issue while enhancing overall efficiency and transparency. The improvements ensure that the agency's financial reporting accurately reflects its operations and financial position.

"This is a significant achievement for HUD. Securing a clean audit opinion for five consecutive years, while simultaneously resolving a significant compliance issue, demonstrates our unwavering commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparency," said HUD Chief Financial Officer and Chief AI Officer Vinay Singh. "This success reflects HUD’s dedication and hard work and reassures the American people that their investment in HUD is being managed with integrity and accountability."

HUD remains committed to maintaining high standards of financial management.
