A man from suburban Chicago has been sentenced to over 19 years in federal prison for enticing children to produce and record sexually explicit content. Glenn Clifford Messmer, who used the screennames "coreyjohnsonnn" and "jayyyjansen," communicated with minors on social media platforms Telegram and Snapchat, paying them to create explicit material according to his instructions. He kept detailed records of his victims, noting their names, ages, friends, school years, physical characteristics, and willingness to engage.
Following Messmer's arrest in 2023, a search of his electronic devices revealed possession of more than 350,000 images and nearly 18,000 videos depicting child sexual abuse. Many of these materials involved prepubescent children as young as four years old.
Messmer, aged 48 from Darien, Illinois, pleaded guilty earlier this year to a federal child pornography charge. U.S. District Judge Franklin U. Valderrama sentenced him on Tuesday to 19 years and seven months in federal prison.
The sentence was announced by Morris Pasqual, Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, alongside Sean Fitzgerald, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago Office of Homeland Security Investigations. The Darien Police Department also provided valuable assistance in the case.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sushma Raju and Adam L. Rosenbloom represented the government in this matter.
